Maximize a building as an attractive, mixed-use and residential space within a strict federal ordinance limiting the structure’s height.
Due to its adjacency to the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway, the height limit for the structure was at odds with the developer’s desire for high ceilings. d/W proposed Composite Laminate Timbers (CLT)—a first for Mississippi construction—to reduce the floor depth, achieve the required ceiling height, resolve sound issues, and add a modern design aspect.
The resourceful solution, combined with large balconies affording magnificent views of the marina and reservoir, made the location an attractive, mixed-use location for businesses and luxury condos.
